BETTER SOUND PROTECTION THROUGH MARTIN GLASS GLASS PANELS IN BUILDING TAB
The old Philips cardboard building, Gebouw TAB on Strijp T, has been transformed into a modern multi-company building. In addition to offices and meeting rooms, the building also houses workshops. That is why optimal insulation and good acoustics are not an unnecessary luxury here. This also applies to the tempered safety glass walls supplied by Martin Glas. These meet the strictest acoustic requirements, so that people in the offices and meeting rooms are not bothered by the machines of LOVD Interiors and 040 Staal in the large hall on the ground floor.
BUILDING TAB
“Our own office is located in Building TAB. We rent this together with LOVD Interiors, KRAGT and 040 Staal from GEVA Vastgoed.” After a few years, there was a need for more space, says Berrie Eding, director of Construction and Renovation (BER). “We were actually three companies in the storage space on the first floor of the old Philips cardboard box. Since we were all growing a bit out of our jacket and there was also a need for extra spaces, such as separate meeting rooms, offices and a canteen, we decided to build in an entire floor. There was already a floor in it, but a completely new floor has now been added. That is also fine because the building is 13 meters high at the highest point.”
BUSINESS COLLECTION BUILDING
walking in here, they can also meet the designers of KRAGT and the people of LOVD interiors. Together we can arrange a complete renovation from A to Z for the customer.” In Gebouw TAB, 3.5 meter high glass walls made of tempered glass from Martin Glas have been used. “Tempered safety glass has been used in these walls. The walls are also well insulated, which is handy when you work with so many different people and companies in a hall. Downstairs are the machines of 040 Staal and they do make a lot of noise.” According to Eding, the collaboration with Martin Glas was as usual. “I often like to work with the same people. You often have to be able to switch quickly and then it is useful if you know the people well. I have had good experiences with Martin Glas.”
DOUBLE MIRROR WALL
For this project, Martin Glas supplied more than 110 m2 of laminated 66.2 flat-cut glass and clear hardened doors of 10 mm thick, also flat-cut. The aluminum glass profiles and frames were finished in RAL 9005 matt and the doors were fitted with stainless steel door fittings. In addition, Martin Glas supplied a double mirror wall, which was placed very carefully due to the very tight space and the size of the panels. The challenge for Martin Glas was that the offices in the building are situated at different heights. That is why various means have been used to get the panels to the right location. Another challenge was the age of the building, which means that no wall is identical and that close attention was paid to small differences between the walls.
