IN GLASS FOR OVER 200 YEARS
Our company was founded in 1820 by Jan Bayens, at that time it was still a painting company. Loes, the daughter of Jan Bayens, married Martin in 1880, from then on Martin became the namesake.
Loes and Martin converted the painting and glaziers business into a paint and glass wholesaler. This happened in a combined building, 150 meters long, on the Keizersgracht and Rechtestraat in Eindhoven.
See here the facade advertisement, shortly after the name change. This is the building on the Rechtstraat in Eindhoven, estimated at the end of the 19th century. The name of the founder is above the door and the name of the entrepreneur on the glass.
NEW MODERN PROPERTY
The company grew and the location in the historic center had become a limitation, so we moved to a modern building at Hastelweg 214. This building was designed by architect Van Haapert and built by Van Grootels Bouwmij.
The first stone was laid by the (grand)son Polle Martin at the festive opening in 1966.
