CURVED INSULATING GLASS
Besides flat insulating glass, insulating glass can also be manufactured curved. Curved glass not only gives the building a unique appearance, it also fulfils the practical desire to keep interior spaces warm or cool.
CHARACTERISTICS OF CURVED INSULATING GLASS
In glass bending, the flat glass sheet is heated in a controlled manner. Gravity causes the glass to bend and take the shape of the underlying mould. The bent glass is then cooled in a controlled manner, creating a stress-free finished product. As with flat insulating glass, the insulating effect of curved insulating glass is achieved by a space filled with noble gas between the glass panes and a special insulating coating.
APPLICATION
Curved glass is versatile and has great architectural added value. It is widely used as roof glazing in skylights, verandas and shopping galleries, for example, but is also perfect for rounding off corners of curtain walls or façade corners.
