SINFONIA, LEIDS RINE UTRECHT
Sinfonia, a new housing estate in Utrecht, consists of sturdy blocks with robust corner buildings as bookends. The diversity in architecture, materials and proportions is striking. This has resulted in a cheerful, varied and yet coherent image.
LOTS OF LIGHT
The spacious floor height of the ground floor – 4.5 meters, while the standard is 3 meters – has been used by the architect to create high windows for extra light. The so-called bay window houses have glazed corners. The corner houses, which are often somewhat dark at the rear, also have extra daylight, which provides a spectacular view.
ENERGY NEUTRAL
All windows in Sinfonia are fitted with triple glazing, including the glazed corners and the round windows on the corners. A feat, if we do say so ourselves... Partly thanks to this high-quality glass, the homes are energy-neutral and gas-free.
